Ancient Mesopotamian's believed their whole words were controlled by gods,goddesses,demons,and monsters. If the gods were angry something bad would happen to Mesopotamia. There were hundreds of different ones. Each city in Ancient Mesopotamia had there own god or goddess and they built a large temple for them called ziggaruts. They could be seen up to twenty miles away! One of the largest ones is eight stories up in the air and 200 feet wide. Ziggurats were mad for mud bricks and near some temples. Each ziggurat had a long flight of stairs down to earth incase the god wanted to visit. Inside the ziggurats the Mesopotamians craved sculptures of people praying to the gods. These statues were bursting with detail the eyes often looked up to the gods; this is because they believed were happy when shown love, favor, and compliance. The gods were watched over by priest and kings so they could receive blessings from the gods.
A few of the gods in ancient Mesopotamia were Enki, Inanna, Nanna, Utu. Each and every god had its own value. Ancient Mesopotamians were polytheistic.
In ancient Mesopotamia, culture was very important to them. They had multiple types of festivals and ceremonies which were a large part of their life. The most popular celebrations were birth and marriage. During these ceremonies, they had dancing, music and food. The type of food was determined on the social class of the family .Art was very important to the ancient Mesopotamians. Art included painting, architecture, and music, and even made jewelry.

The Nine river created silt every time it flooded this created a twelve foot long strip of quality farming soil. In Ancient Mesopotamia there was limited water & rain. Farmers would be limited on the amount of water they could have. This forced the Mesopotamians to create an irrigation system. When it was time for a farmer to water their land the irrigation system could carry water from the canal.
